Valiant Lady Deck Plans: A Deck-by-Deck Guide to Virgin Voyages' Valiant Lady

Valiant Lady is one of Virgin Voyages' four adults-only ships, and knowing the layout before you board makes a big difference. It helps you pick a better cabin, find the restaurants you want to try, and skip the wandering on day one. Here's a deck-by-deck guide to Valiant Lady, with what's on every deck and my tips for choosing where to sleep.

Tips for Picking a Cabin on Valiant Lady

  • For a quiet night, aim for Decks 9 through 13. Cabins there have more cabins above and below them, so there's less noise from public spaces.

  • Think twice about Deck 14 and Deck 8. Deck 14 sits right under the pool deck and The Galley on Deck 15, where you may hear chairs moving early in the morning. The front of Deck 8 sits over The Red Room and The Manor, which run late.

  • Midship is best if you get seasick. You'll feel the least motion in the middle of the ship, on a lower deck.

  • Want to be close to the action? Midship cabins near the elevators make it quick to get to the restaurants on Decks 5 through 7 and the pool on Deck 15.

  • Don't sleep right next to an elevator lobby if you're a light sleeper. A few doors down is the sweet spot.

When you book through me, I can choose your exact cabin on Base, Essential, and Premium fares, so you're not stuck with whatever Virgin assigns. For more, see How to Pick the Best Cabin on Virgin Voyages and Is RockStar Quarters Worth It?

Where to Eat on Valiant Lady

Every restaurant is included in your fare. The sit-down restaurants are on Decks 5 and 6, casual spots are on Deck 7, and The Galley and Gunbae are up on Deck 15. Book dinner reservations as soon as your fare's window opens. See the Virgin Voyages Restaurant Guide for what to order.

Where the Parties Happen

Most nights out start on Decks 6 and 7, between The Manor, The Red Room, and the bars around The Roundabout. The big theme nights, like Scarlet Night, spread across the ship and up to the pool deck. See my Virgin Voyages Party Guide.
