Virgin Voyages Bar Tab Calculator
Virgin Voyages doesn't sell an unlimited drink package. Instead, you prepay for a Bar Tab and Virgin adds bonus credit on top. The trick is picking the right amount: too little and you miss out on bonus money, too much and the leftover expires when you get off the ship.
Plug in your sailing and how much you drink, and this calculator will show which Bar Tab saves you the most.

- Buy it before you sail. You can add a Bar Tab up to 24 hours before departure, and cancel for a refund until then.
- Use it onboard and at Bimini. It covers drinks at bars, restaurants and The Beach Club at Bimini, but not the spa or Shore Things.
- It expires at the end of your voyage. Unused credit can't be cashed out or moved to another sailing.
- Share it. You can buy drinks for your cabin mate or friends with your Bar Tab.
- Sea-Rovers and Sea-Blazers get a bigger bonus on the $300 Bar Tab.

Tips for Picking Your Bar Tab
- Two Sailors? Two tabs can beat one. Each Sailor can buy their own, so two $500 tabs or a $500 and a $750 sometimes give you more bonus for the money.
- Round down, not up. Bonus credit is nice, but leftover credit is lost. If you're unsure, pick the smaller tab and pay the rest as you go.
- Count your Sailor Loot. Onboard credit from your booking can go toward drinks too, so you may need a smaller Bar Tab than you think.
- Watch for promos. Virgin sometimes runs bigger Bar Tab bonuses, and some fares and offers include Bar Tab credit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Virgin Voyages have a drink package?
Not an unlimited one. Virgin offers a prepaid Bar Tab with bonus credit instead.
What is the best Bar Tab on Virgin Voyages?
It depends on how much you drink. The bonus grows with each tier, from 12.5% on $200 to 25% on $1,000, but any credit you don't use is lost. Use the calculator above to find your best fit.
Can you buy a Bar Tab onboard?
No. It has to be added before you sail, up to 24 hours before departure.
Does the Bar Tab work at Bimini?
Yes. It covers drinks at The Beach Club at Bimini on sailings that stop there.
Is the Virgin Voyages Bar Tab worth it?
For most sailors who drink, yes. The bonus is extra credit on drinks you were going to buy anyway, and it covers cocktails, beer, wine, specialty coffee, and more. See Virgin Voyages Bar Tab Explained for the full rundown.
Can two sailors share a Bar Tab?
A Bar Tab belongs to the sailor who bought it, but that sailor can buy drinks for anyone. For two sailors, two separate tabs often beat one big one because each tab earns its own bonus. The calculator compares both options for you.
Does the Premium fare include a Bar Tab?
Yes. Premium includes a $15 per sailor, per night Bar Tab, which is $210 for two sailors on a 7-night sailing. Count it before you buy more. See Virgin Voyages fare types explained.
