RockStar Quarters are Virgin Voyages' suites, and they come with a whole layer of perks that regular cabins don't get: a private rooftop, a dedicated agent, priority everything, and more space. But they also cost a lot more. Here's what you actually get and how to decide if it's worth it for your trip.
RockStar bathrooms go big: floor-to-ceiling marble and a rainfall shower.
What Are RockStar Quarters?
RockStar Quarters is Virgin's name for its suites. They come in two tiers:
RockStar Quarters
Seriously Suite
Brilliant Suite
Sweet Aft Suite
Cheeky Corner Suite
Mega RockStar Quarters
Gorgeous Suite
Posh Suite
Fab Suite
Massive Suite
Suites range from around 350 square feet for a Seriously Suite to more than 2,000 square feet for the Massive Suite. For comparison, a standard Sea Terrace cabin is much smaller, so even the entry-level suite feels like a real upgrade.
What Every RockStar Gets

Is a RockStar Suite Worth It?
It's worth it if...
You're celebrating something big. Honeymoons, milestone birthdays, and anniversaries feel different with the extra space and service.
You hate lines and logistics. Priority boarding, early Shore Things booking, and an agent who handles reservations take the stress out of the trip.
You'll use the perks. If you'd spend on drinks, the spa, and room service anyway, Mega RockStar's included extras offset a lot of the price.
You want space. Suites have real living areas, larger terraces, and bigger bathrooms.
You're traveling with a group. Hosting friends on a big private terrace is a different trip.
It might not be worth it if...
You plan to spend most of your time off the ship or around the pool
You mostly need a place to sleep and shower
The price difference would cover another whole vacation
Sea Terrace vs. RockStar
For most first-time Virgin sailors, a Sea Terrace cabin hits the sweet spot: a private terrace with a hammock, solid space, and a much lower price. RockStar makes the most sense once you know you love Virgin and want the full VIP experience, or when the occasion calls for it.
One more thing: Virgin's sales often give RockStars bigger perks too. During sales, RockStar bookings usually get more Sailor Loot than Sea Terrace, which can shrink the price gap. Check my current deals for what's running now.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Richard's Rooftop on Virgin Voyages?
A private deck exclusively for RockStar and Mega RockStar guests, with its own bar and lounge space.
What's the difference between RockStar and Mega RockStar?
Mega RockStar suites are larger and add a dedicated personal agent, a bottomless in-room bar, drinks around the ship, daily Thermal Suite access, premium Wi-Fi, and transfers or parking where available.
Do RockStars get to book Shore Things early?
Yes. RockStar Quarters guests can book Shore Things 135 days before sailing, compared with 120 days for other sailors.
Do RockStar suites have fare types like Lock It In?
Yes, but they work differently than standard cabins. RockStar and Mega RockStar suites have two options: a Lock It In rate, where Virgin assigns your suite up to 2 days before sailing and the fare is non-refundable with no changes, or the regular RockStar or Mega RockStar fare, where your suite is assigned at booking, changes are allowed, and you're eligible for Future Voyage Credit. Both open dining reservations 120 days before sailing. See Lock It In vs. Base vs. Essential vs. Premium for how all the fares compare.
