If you have elite status with an airline, hotel chain, or another cruise line, Virgin Voyages wants to give you a taste of its loyalty perks before you've ever sailed. Its Status Match offer is back, and it runs through October 31, 2026.
What Is Virgin Voyages Status Match?
Normally, Virgin Voyages Sailors unlock Blue Extras, the first perk level of Virgin's Sailing Club, on their third voyage. Status Match lets you skip the wait. If you hold qualifying status with another travel loyalty program, you can get Blue Extras on one new Virgin booking.
What You Get
Blue Extras through Status Match includes:
One specialty coffee per day
One complimentary bag of laundry
An invitation to an exclusive onboard cocktail event
Dedicated Sailing Club Sailor Services support
The perks apply once, to the primary Sailor on the booking. Status Match doesn't permanently change your Sailing Club level.
Who Qualifies?
Virgin accepts status from a long list of programs, including:
Cruise lines: Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Celebrity, Norwegian, Princess, and Disney's loyalty programs, among others
Airlines: American, Delta, United, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, and more
Hotels: Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, IHG One Rewards, and more
Not every tier qualifies, and some programs require mid-level status or higher. Check Virgin's current eligibility list before applying.
How It Works
1. Sign in to your Virgin Voyages account and go to the Status Match page.
2. Pick your loyalty program and upload proof of your status, like a screenshot or digital membership card.
3. Once Virgin approves it, you'll get a single-use Access Key by email.
4. Use the Access Key on a new booking.
Both your application and your new booking need to be completed by October 31, 2026.
What This Means for Sailors
The most important detail: the Access Key only works on a new booking. You can't add it to a reservation you've already made. If you're thinking about a Virgin sailing anyway, apply now, since approval can take some time and the deadline covers both steps.
It works on nearly every sailing, every cabin category, and Base, Essential, and Premium fares. Chartered voyages are excluded. It also stacks with several current Virgin offers, including the up to $1,000 instant savings and 70% off your second Sailor promotion on eligible sailings.
And yes, you can use it when booking with a First Mate. Apply through Virgin first, then share your Access Key with your First Mate when you book.
