Virgin Voyages Hits Two Million Sailors and Extends Sailing Club Perks Through 2028

Virgin Voyages just hit a big milestone: two million Sailors since its first sailing in 2021. To celebrate, Virgin surprised one lucky Sailor with a prize package and gave its loyal Sailors something too, extending Sailing Club perks through the end of 2028.

The Two Millionth Sailor

On September 24, a seven-time Sailor from North Carolina arrived at Terminal V in Miami expecting a normal boarding day on Resilient Lady. Instead, the Happenings Cast surprised him with music, confetti, and an oversized red envelope.

  • Inside was a very Virgin prize package:

  • An upgrade to a Gorgeous Suite with a bottle of Moët

  • A free Shore Thing in Key West

  • A cabana at The Beach Club at Bimini

  • A Squid Ink tattoo or a Redemption Spa treatment

  • A letter from Richard Branson

  • An invite to Sisters at Sea, Virgin's fleetwide meetup in February 2027

  • A trip for two to London, with flights on Virgin Atlantic and three nights at Virgin Hotels London Shoreditch

Virgin also celebrated a First Mate from Florida with her own prize package for her third voyage, recognizing the travel advisors who helped the brand grow.

Sailing Club Perks Extended Through 2028

Here's the part that matters for loyal Sailors. Virgin is extending its Sailing Club benefits, Blue Extras and Deep Blue Extras, through December 31, 2028.

As a refresher, Sailors normally unlock Blue Extras on their third Virgin voyage and Deep Blue Extras starting on their fifth. The extension gives Sailors who've earned those perks more time to use them.

Status Match Is Back Too

As part of the same celebration, Virgin brought back Status Match through October 31, 2026. If you have status with an airline, hotel, or another cruise line, you could get Blue Extras on a new Virgin booking without sailing three times first. Read Virgin Voyages Status Match Is Back Through October 31 for how it works.

What This Means for Sailors

If you've sailed Virgin a few times, check your Sailing Club status in the Virgin Voyages app so you know which perks you have and how long they last. If you're close to your third or fifth voyage, the extension means there's no rush to squeeze in a sailing just to keep your benefits.

And if you're new to Virgin, Status Match is the fastest way to get a taste of Sailing Club perks before the October 31 deadline.

Two million Sailors in just five years is a sign of how fast Virgin has grown, from a single ship doing short Miami sailings to four ships sailing worldwide. It's also why Travel + Leisure has named Virgin the top mega-ship ocean cruise line four years running.
